Palm Pokemon: #253 (Alolan) Vulpix

I thought I’d start the week off with a cute little pokemon: Vulpix. Foxes are just so adorable, don’t you think? If you didn’t play the game, or, like me, didn’t get that far, Pokemon Sun/Moon introduced a new form of Vulpix, turning the little fire fox into an ice fox. I haven’t really decided how I feel about that as far as the actual game goes, but for making the pokemon, the only real difference is the colour scheme. Alolan Vulpix is white with some bluish parts, not brown and red. Of course, by changing the colours you use, you can easily use this pattern for either one.

I’ve only put three tails on my Vulpix, because any more than that looked crowded to me, but you could put the full six if you wanted. Also, note that the hair on top of his head is done with chains and surface slip stitches. This can be a little tricky, but shouldn’t be done before you attach the ears. The ears will help you decide where to put that fur. Apart from that fur, this pattern is pretty easy, and, being small, works up fast. Hope you enjoy this cutie.

Fasten off and stuff very lightly. Bend the wide end of the tail under itself to form a little curl and sew in place.

Hair:

Decide where you want the hair at the top of the head. Attach yarn to your hook with a slip knot. Insert hook where you want the hair and bring hook out of a nearby gap in the fabric. Yo and pull hook back out of the fabric and through the slip knot: one surface slip stitch made. Chain 4, then surface slip stitch again to anchor the chains into a little loop of hair. Repeat over the top/back of the head as desired.

The hair can be a little tricky. Feel free to comment with questions if you have any problems. Happy Hooking.
